I Am Thankful For My Board

Not every Pastor can say this - but I am so thankful for my Board. (other churches may use the term elders, deacons, etc.)

At our church I am accountable to a Board of 3 church members. They are elected by the memberhsip of the congregation and serve 3 year terms.

They are extra eyes, ears, and wisdom for me as I strive to lead this church with skillful hands and integrity of heart.
Psalms 78:72 (NIV)
And David shepherded them with integrity of heart; with skillful hands he led them.
They lift me up and strengthen me when the load is to heavy.

Exodus 17:12 (NIV)
When Moses' hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up--one on one side, one on the other--so that his hands remained steady till sunset.
They give me wisdom and guidance in enacting the vision/direction I feel God leading us.
Proverbs 15:22 (NIV)
Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.
Some pastors dread their Board meetings. Some have been seriously injured and betrayed by their Board. Others have been greatly helped, enhanced, and protected by the counsel and wisdom of their Board.

My current Board is made up of three men, Steve Snider, Chuck Ireland, and Kevin Carder. I thank God for them.
