This past Monday and Tuesday I went to Minister's Renewal, an opportunity for pastors to be ministered to.
The guest speaker was General Superintendent of the A/G, George Wood. In one session he shared enduring principles he learned from his first two years in ministry. Here are a few nuggets:
- The call of the Lord sustains you
- Build on your own strengths
- Purpose of pastoral ministry is to develop people for the ministry
- Your strengths are not enough
- Take care of the church facility
- Feed the flock
- Staff for growth, not to maintain
- If your leadership is not united, wait
